Mother nature cooked up a storm over the bank holiday weekend - not the rainy kind, but the hot, spicy, rock & roll kind.
Where to even begin? Well, I guess at beginning is always a good place to start. Saturday morning a group of COMUSO members met online armed with toast, tea & biscuits ready to listen to some incredible song submissions.
Hosting only our second morning listening party (LP), there was likely some nerves in the air from myself - YES I'm a morning person, but is everybody else? With a much more relaxed and chilled vibe, the LP soon found it's groove and those nerves quickly turned into excitement.
Some honourable mentions from Saturday's LP: Henry Collins continuing his great 'in a row' streak of 14 song submissions, Jake Tee also keeping up the pace with 13 'in a row', Debra Murphy submitting her 15th song submission since joining last year & TAOS providing us all with a wonderful WAKE UP track in 'W1nter 1s Coming' (make sure you check it out, it'll wake you up for sure).
We brought the curtain down on 'A storm is coming' in great fashion last night (Bank holiday Monday), with a real celebratory feel. You can really tell members are finding their groove and feeling very confident when providing advice & guidance - some of the kind words and suggestions shared on Monday night really shown a light on just how lovely this community is.
Some Honourable mentions from Monday's LP: Paul Farrell leading the way with 17 song submissions 'in a row'... now that is going to take some beating, Nigel Davis reaching 15 song submissions 'in a row' & Francis Coop for being bold enough to take on the 'Vote a genre' challenge in 'Shelter from the storm'.
Congratulations to every single songwriter and to anyone/everyone who contributed in some capacity during May.
If you haven't already, head over to the COMUSO Player and listen to every song submission (you must be a member to gain access).
That's a wrap. NOW, onto the next.
